Think about fan fiction for a second. You could technically say that fiction novels are the fan fiction for real life. So when you write fiction based on other novels or television shows, you’re actually creating stories from characters that weren’t real to begin with. THIS BLOWS MY MIND. It’s like writing inception. I’m sure there are people out there who write fan fiction based on someone else’s fan fiction—I’ve seen Fifty Shades of Grey fan fiction, which is technically fan fiction for Twilight, which is a fiction novel. I don’t feel like thinking any more.
